Picked up 5 chicks a few days ago from a feed store and was supposed to get two Ameraucanas, two RIRs and one Buckeye. The chick that is supposedly a Buckeye does not look anything like any of the pictures I've found online (I'd never heard of Buckeye before). Can anyone confirm that it is a Buckeye or tell me if it's something else?

the "Buckeye" is the one in the middle between the Ameraucana chicks

the one on the right in this picture is the supposed Buckeye (I love how they're having a stare-down in this pic!)

I don't think that's a Buckeye. My Buckeye hen didn't look like that when she was little.

yeah, I don't think it is either.....I just wish I knew what it was! I've had Ameraucanas and Barred Rocks before.....so my chick identification knowledge is limited and I know it's not either of those [IMG]

ok, after looking some more online I'm thinking it may be a Welsummer. I know they had some there at the feed store and that definitely doesn't look like any of the Buckeye chicks I've seen online.

    can anyone confirm this?
