one of our bantams went broody. so we gave her a few eggs to sit on. few days later we had a tragedy where a dog killed the bulk of our flock.. but the mama hen was safe in a box in the garage.

the first chick hatched while we were away .. 2 others hatched but didn't make it. one seemed fine but it died. i think the folks we had watching let it get cold. the other had a hard time getting out. finally broke most the way out but it's legs were all messed up. we tried to correct the curved feet and legs problem.. but she was always weak and didn't make it.

papa was a buff cochin named bob.

not sure which egg gave us the chick who made it. the mama hen was either a jersey giant. or an australorp . the kid who was watching the house said he wanted to name it marty. so we went with Bob marty.

any guesses about sex ? Bob marty is about 6-7 weeks old.

How big is she? my chicks are nearly that age and I want to know what to expect (size- wise)
she is big. but different breeds will grow at their own pace i think. buff cochin for example are pretty huge. our rooster was a giant. and clumsy as all get out
