We were told we got a female but a family member thinks otherwise because of the head feathers and tail feathers. Can anyone help out and identify the chicken’s gender? It’s around 12-14 weeks. It’s also our only sort of “ratty” looking one so it certainly doesn’t help lol

Your friend is correct. Male.
You can also tell by the red comb and wattles at this age.
