Just saw a local ad for 40 buff orp chicks 2-3 days old for 1.25 each. Thought it was a pretty good deal. What do you think???????

Thanks!!!! I replied to the ad right away, just waiting for a phone call. Hope they aren't already gone!!!!! [IMG]

Ps. what is the mortality rate of chicks that young? I've never bought any that young.

Sounds like a good deal if they are healthy and not mutts. Mortality of non shipped chicks is about oh, 2% if they make it out of the shell. Mortality on birds from the feed store is a bit higher. I don't count on my birds dying on me though.
