    1) What type of bird , age and weight. Buff Orphington, 3 months
    2) What is the behavior, exactly. Her cheek is swollen and causing her eye to close. The eye is seeping and only one of the eyes is affected. She has scratched all of the feathers off of her face on that one side. The nostrils are clear and she doesn't seem to have trouble breathing. I am unsure if she was injured by and insect or another bird. She is acting normally, maybe a little quieter than usual but she is also seperated from the flock.
    3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? about 24 hours
    4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? No
    5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. No
    6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. Nothing (to my knowledge)
    7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Yes. She is eating Purina Start and Grow.
    8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Normal
    9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Saline rinse to eye, cleaned outer eye/cheek area with qtip
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? I would like to treat the bird. None of the vets in town treat chickens.
    11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
    12) Describe the housing/bedding in use She has been in the coop with my other chickens. The chicken house has pine shaving in the floor and the rest of the coop is dusty dirt/sand. She is currently isolated inside in a bed of pine shavings.

I recently purchased her along with all of the other chickens in my coop. She has not been exposed to any chickens other than the ones she was previously living with.

you might want to put some kind of eye salve or neosporin w/o pain relief into her eye. you can put neo in their eyes. she could have gotten pecked or gotten dust in her eye. can you see the eyeball at all? how does it look? could also be sinus, does her sinus look clogged up?
