I have hatched and raised hundreds of chickens. Though it is possible for a rooster to grow slower than a hen, it most definitely isn't an absolute.​

Yes - some breeds of roosters do grow fast, so you can not sex them this way EVERYTIMe - But most of the time I can.

Well at 8 weeks old I will have to say Roo. My gal did not have that kind of wattle and come at that age. So sorry! I would love to be wrong!

By the way, my hubby has never let me hear the end of me giving away our BO rooster. So now I have one ordered (a chick).

They grab at the heartstrings, they do! And my husband doesn't pay much attention to the chickens.
