Buff Orpington Chicks

I just hatched out about 16 Buffs. They are 3 days old. I’m selling them for $7 each if any one is interested. They’d be straight run of course.
I attached photos of my breeding stock of interested.

I actually had a 100% hatch rate. so 16 eggs for 16 chicks.
But thats rare even for me. im usually 80%.
Biggest things you need to make sure is your incubator is consistent and that you have good eggs to start with.
These came from my chickens so the oldest one was 7 days old. But ive bought some before and gotten 10% or less hatch rate from the same incubator. Dont know where you are but i bought LO eggs from a guy in Granada Hills and had those terrible results. so just a warning

Whoa, that is AMAZING!

I'd a tad bit sad because I drove from Baldwin Park to Glendora and it seems like these eggs might not be viable. One is a wonky-looking egg, 2 are porous, and one seems okay.

Her Orpies were just beautiful though and she usually has a very high success rate - I saw the chicks! However, I think the heat stressed her girls out which is why their eggs aren't that great. She told me to wait a bit but I was so excited, I just came out!

I'll probably pick up another set next week.. just in case!

Hi! Sorry, so random but how many eggs did you incubate for this many chicks?! I'm planning on picking up some eggs today from a lady with Lavender Orpingtons and wanted 3 hens but am not sure how many eggs I should buy!
