So (what I thought was) my Buff Orpington started laying the other day cute little, white as sushi rice, eggs. She was purchased from the same supplier as my parents purchased their BO's from within a week of each other. My parents BO's are quite fluffy, large and henny. Mine is scrawny, not very fluffy, and quite the crazy beast!

Did I get a "cross-pollinated" chicken, just looking kind of BO-like but laying like another breed? Or is there a breed that looks like BO's but are not as fluffy and lay white eggs rather than brown?

    Any guesses?

    Thanks peeps!

Thanks for the replies so far. I was out most of the day, so couldn't get a picture by dark. I'll post one in the morning. But yes she does have white ear lobes and she very much looks like the Buff Minorca in the picture in the link! I saw my mom's BO's again today and noted how their tails are short and more uniform in length while mine has longer feather at the tip of her tail like the Minorca. Very interesting.

She looks almost exactly like a Minorca. [IMG] I've never heard of or seen a Buff Leghorn.

That's a Buff Minorca! Leghorns have yellow skin, Minorcas have white. Pretty girl!
