Buff Orp Roo x GLW Hen Adult Hen (not my hen, a picture someone else posted on BYC)
I couldn’t find pictures of what to expect from a Buff Orp Roo over GL Wyandotte hens so I’m posting pics of my chicks that hatched yesterday!
Chicks are yellow with a brown and black mixed spot on their head that is similar in color to a leopard spot. (The usual GL golden brown shade is lightly mixed in with the black. It was hard to capture in pictures but is easily visible in real life.) Chicks all look the same, no sex link but some have lighter colored head spots than others.
These chicks are also VERY friendly and run to my hand at less than 24 hours old. I’ve read this is a very docile cross and thus far it seems to be true!
