Okay, so we just discovered our australorp is a boy, now I am seeing pointy feathers on our buff orpington. she/he has always had a pretty big comb and wattles, she/he is 15 weeks old. any help appreciated, I am not familiar with what they look like at different stages. also, she/he and the australorp have always faced off, puffing up. "Belle" the buff is the friendliest, but also getting to be more aggressive. she/he is pretty grabby with treats and comes running full speed when she/he sees us coming.

I have some Buff O hens, they are only half as old as yours, but they have no visible wattles and their combs are much smaller. I think you have a roo. I also have RIR's the same age and one of them looks like your buff, much more comb than the rest and obvious red wattles, he is a roo.

looks just like my BO cockerels. See the shiny/darker shade of feathers on the saddle and I also see the pointy saddle feathers. Out of 4 BO's I got 3 are roo's!!!!!
