At what age are you supposed to be able to tell that you have a rooster. I have 11 buff orps and I can't tell for sure which one is supposed to be a rooster! Is it still to early? One has tail feathers that is pointed up more than the others, but then another has the starting of the same thing, so I can't be sure!

And if you look at their backs, just in front of the tail area, there would be a shiny fringe of pointy saddle feathers that hangs over each side. That would be your male. By 14 weeks, you should be able to see that difference, for sure.

My BO roo developed really young. I'm a newbie and I could see right away that he was different than the girls. His comb turned red while still in the brooder. I don't have any pixs of him then, but here he is at 13 wks. He is crowing, too.
