Since I got a lot of ideas from this forum, I thought I better join and share the process.

Here's what's gone on over the last 10 days.

Turning my top garden in to a chicken coop. Here's the beginning ... building a concrete beam as the base. Here are some photos as the form for the concrete is built.

Pouring the beam.

Roof going up today. I'm using tin from a chicken house one of my neighbors tore down - the family used to raise chickens for Pilgrim's. We had to overlap quite a bit, but it will get the job done and I like using some reclaimed materials.

Coop floor is in and ready to be framed.

Getting close to being finished.

We stapled hardware cloth to the 2x6s, then trimmed with 1x4s for extra hold on the wire and to make it look a little more finished.

Ramp and door in for the girls.

I never thought about pouring a footer around the perimeter. I would imagine that would be a lot for a predator to dig through or under. If I could ask, how deep is it in the ground and how wide is it?
