The Cluck On Inn
The roosts and poop boards can be removed for easy cleaning. Sand on 3/4 of the floor. underneath whole floor is linoleum.
Ceiling fan for warm days. Bare wall before the artwork begins.
A work in progress because the wall was too boring for me.
Excelsior nesting pads that I got from eggcartons.com. I was using shavings but the girls kicked most out onto the floor. Since adding the pads, no more mess on the floor.
Added a/c as it is hot here in AZ!! Girls figured out that it was cooler to hang out inside during our hot summers. They also dust bathed in the sand inside.
Shavings in nest boxes before a fellow BYCer suggested the nesting pads.
See my BYC page
Usually they free-range during the day but there is enough room for them to be confined while introducing new chickens etc.. Need a lot of air circulation during hot summers here.
Be sure to plan adequate roosting space and predator-proofing.
Here's the inside of mine! It's pretty basic!
