Hope this is still the right place to post this...anyone else have pics of their transition coops?

So today I built my two 8 week old chicks their new home for daytime now that the temps. are getting warm enough for them to spend the days outside. They will still go into the garage with the heat lamp at night.

This way they can get used to the big girls and vice versa...

While they were waiting for their place to be finished...Queen Banana checking them out.

Their little 'day coop' inside the big coop...

yes..granite sand..I made them a sand bath for when they are cooped up while I am at work..i put DE in it as well..

The whole coop and run has a granite sand floor under the deep littler to help with drainage.

That sounds interesting. Could I just through it around or would it be better in a enclosed section?

The sand pit? I found that it took them a little while to 'warm' to the sandbox but now they all use it...i like it enclosed so it can be deep for the girls to dig in and have a good bath...it also allows me to get the DE on them without any fuss.
