My beloved Hamilton went down four days ago, naturally at the beginning of the weekend. My farm vet tried to make it before her days off but couldn’t. He has been getting Epsom salt soaks twice a day and being hand fed and watered. There is one avian vet in the area I’m going to call but if that vet can’t handle this today I’ll do the surgery myself. I’ve watched the videos and read the guides. It doesn’t seem hard just emotionally taxing.
Anyway. Hamilton has a swelling along one of his toes and on the bottom of his
foot. Do both of these locations need to be opened and drained? Or is one tied to the other? This is the first time I deal with this but I’ve dealt with many farm emergencies and am fully stocked on all first aid, meds, and surgical equipment.
