I have performed bumblefoot extraction on this foot twice (1 yo Welsummer, Bryony). First time, I got pus but no kernel. Second time, I got pus and a kernel, but I'm wondering if I didn't get it all out this time, either. Both times I excised what I could, packed the hole with gauze and antibiotic ointment. Wound was cleaned with Vetericyn and bandaged changed every other day.

Here's her foot 5 days after extraction. Seems awfully swollen to me. Redness is gone, though, and it doesn't feel hot anymore. Thoughts? Advice?

Thanks! It was pretty bad by the time I noticed it. I usually catch it early enough that removing the scab and treating with antibiotic ointment is sufficient. Poor girl. I was digging around in that foot for nearly an hour that second time. Must have hurt like hell. 😭

No problem!
Ouch. Poor thing. Good thing you noticed it!
I would have noticed it sooner, but we were moving, so my flock was at my mom's while we set everything up here. The predators here are MANY, so we wanted everything ready before we brought them over.

So. Much. Guilt.

And, of course, she's my craziest, most flighty hen.
