Hey all, after hours on the web I still haven't figured out where exactly to give my pet duck an intramuscular injection. There only seems to be answers for chickens and they seem to agree upon the breast muscle. I'm all set with the correct needles and penicillin but I'm not 100% sure where exactly to inject him. Is there anyone out there that can help me out with this anatomical dilemma?? We would so greatly appreciate it!!!!!

I'm no expert, but texts and resources on Poultry and Avian medicine all suggest pectoral = breast muscle injections (except in the case of some raptors). Avoiding the lower body helps reduce the risk of antibiotic damage to their kidneys.

You may want to also post this question under the ducks forums to see if folks with ducks agree.
