Bumblefoot in duck

I found a black spot on my duck’s foot today and realized it is bumblefoot. She runs around the yard all day, so I would not be surprised if she had accidentally stepped on a stick or pinecone. We have Epsom salt at home, we just need to buy some Vetericyn and vet wrap. At this point of the infection, will surgical removal be necessary? (attached is a picture of her foot)

I wouldn't worry about removal yet. Soak and use Veterycin and wrap and most likely you'll have to do this many days before you can pull off the scab. You might want to use a drawing salve to begin with and the Veteryci after you have gotten the plug out. The drawing slave can help bring the infection to the surface and hopefully once you get the scab off the kernel will come off with it.
