Bumblefoot on Chicken Head?

Really unique problem with our hen. We noticed our girl with a swollen lump on her the side of her head that was warm to the touch but not hot, that had a dark scab in the middle of the lump. I thought maybe it might be an abscess, but tonight we tried to clear it out but only the thick chunk of the scab came off with some yellow gunk stuck to it, the rest look like swollen tissue. No smell either. We cleaned it out the best we could and gave her a shot of antibiotics. She still wanted to eat afterwards so that’s good. We are going to keep her inside for a while so she heals and continue to give antibiotics and keep it clean. But anybody else have experience with this? Could it be Bumblefoot?


So pictures are before we tried to pop it. Then afterwards (before we cleaned it out) then the last pictures are the scab that came out.

Can you identify where her ear opening is on that side? I feel like it could be an ear abscess, or an abscessed feather cyst if it is not the ear.

Yes! I found her ear, and the swelling is not touching the ear but close. The abscesses feather cyst also seems likely! Thanks for the reply!
