My pekin has scabbed over sores on the fatty pads on the bottom of his feet. He doesn't limp while walking but does seem to hold a foot off of the ground while standing and sits more than usual. What could have caused this and how should I treat it?

It could be bumblefoot. I will move this to the mergencies forum and you can do a search there on bumblefoot.
Can you post nice clear pics?

I have determined that my Pekin duck has bumblefoot (thanks to the help of terrielacey [IMG]) I am on my way to the IFA to pick up the antibiotic for him.

I have powdered terimycin on hand. Would that work or do I need to get something else???

    What dosage should I administer???

How do I prevent this. He is on grass or swimming in a pond all day. He may step on rock only once in a while.

How do I bandage his foot??? he will just muck it up and get it wet...can I use liquid bandaid??? My DH uses this on his hands and it works decently.

Thanks for the help and a BIG THANK YOU for terrielacey for your prompt help.
