My girl has had bow legged feet since birth. She does get a lot of action from the males and has been limping and resting a lot. She does have this inflamed bump on her foot that seems to be getting bigger. I do not see any black spot, specific area of a cut or anything that looks like a pimple etc...These pics are from after soaking in epsom salt bath and I did make a very small, not deep at all incision on the right side that seemed most inflamed. I made an arrow in the picture in the spot I made that cut. So that mark wasn’t there before that. What are your thoughts?? Should I try to make a larger incision and clean it out?? Give her antibiotics which I have? Both? Help please...

Is a vet an option? What antibiotics do you have?

It could still be bumblefoot without an obvious point of injury. All it takes for staph to enter tissue is a tiny abrasion that may now be obscured by the swelling.

I would treat her with an oral antibiotic such as amoxicillin and see if that improves her foot, and continue the soaks every day during the treatment.

I don’t think I can take her to a vet. Too expensive. I did speak to one tho and they told me how much and how to give her the antibiotics I have. It’s amoxicillin.

What ratio of epsom salt to water Would you recommend? And do I need to change the water and Epsom salts every day and you a fresh batch?

I don't think it really matters the ratio of Epsom salt to water. I usually just dump about a third of a cup of salt into a quart or so of warm water. Soak the foot for at least fifteen or twenty minutes.

I have 875mg tablet and she said to crush the pill with 1 tablespoon of water. Give her 1 cc orally every 12 hours.
