I have a Red comet hen who has been laying for about 3 months now. This morning I noticed that she is limping on her left foot. The rooster won't let me near her enough to physically examine the foot. The pad seems a little swollen but I can't say that I've really looked hard at it before.[IMG] Would you say that it looks like Bumblefoot?

I can almost see a scab on her left foot, if I zoom the picture in. I would guess that she probably does have bumblefoot. If she does, she will need treatment or else eventually (after a little while) the infection could make her too lame to get to food and water, or spread up her leg and could kill her.
Here is a link that explains bumblefoot further and shows options for treatment: http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/07/bumblefoot-causes-treatment-warning.html
