Butchered 2 yr old Rooster. Green ooze in neck

My husband and I butchered our 2-3 yr old rooster tonight. It’s our second Rooster to butcher, the first was about a year ago. Anyway, while my husband was trying to cut the neck off we noticed this green ooze come out by the neck area. I wasn’t watching at that moment so I’m not sure where it came from. Anyway, what could be the reason for green ooze? The Rooster was ill, and thats why we decided to butcher him.

Had he been free ranging, out on grass? It could have come from the crop.

Maybe a little. It was bright green but just slime, no particles whatsoever
