    Hey BYC!

I am working on setting up my brooder. My button quail eggs are on day 10, so i thought i'd better get started on the brooder.

Plasic tote is about 36 inches long. I used a 50 watt ceramic heat emitter. There is a full spectrum light above that's on a 14 hour timer. So they will have dark to sleep.
Hot end is reading 95 degrees and cold end is 79 degrees. I used shelf liner for the bottom. Should i use pine shavings under the shelf liner?

    Should i change/add anything?
    Advice is very welcomed!

The light is for a night/day cycle. There is a ceramic heat emitter that will be on 24/7 to keep constant heat.

I read that using a light for heat won't allow the chicks to sleep very well.
