Buying adult chickens

I need to purchase an adult rooster. I like the idea of an Orpington, a Sussex, or a NH. Can anybody give me an idea as to what I would be expected to pay at a chicken auction?

Around here, dual purpose roosters like Orps can go for about 10-15 dollars, depending on size. Big OEG roos usually from $20-55+.

While your at it, if I purchased two roosters, do you know of a good way to get them together without having a fight?

unless the ros have already been around each other and know who the boss is you will have a fight...it is what roosters do...they will probably fight anyways once yu put them in a new surroundings
