I read on here a lot of people saying it takes 6 months or more for their chicks to start laying. It also appears they got their babies in the fall. With fall and winter to go through, it is understandable it takes that long to start laying.
I always get my babys by April and by Aug they are usually in full production. Slow down a bit in winter, but still average about 4 1/2 to 5 eggs a week.
