I am thinking about the hikes I want to take when our mountain weather slides into spring.
And thinking, just thinking at this point, mind you, about training for some of our local runs/marathons, as well.

Are there any other serious hikers or runners on BYC that would like to start up a "groupie" kinda thing?
Be fun to share stories and photographs of our excursions and keep the inspiration going...

Ahhhhhhhh...your photo makes me wish I did take hiking more seriously

I've done mini's only in running, but have fallen off the running wagon for the past three years. Even if you don't get a group together, you'll have to post photos of your accomplishments. It will inspire those of us who make more meager attempts at such feats

I havent seriously hiked in forever but when I did I enjoyed it.
That pic sure makes me think about it.

I do quite a bit of hiking and my dad and I are always looking for places that offer nice views. Here's a place we found last summer.

Here's the same view in winter:

Here's a picture of a place my room mate and I go birding in the spring. They have beautiful sunsets and you can hear rails (birds) and whipporwhils when the sun goes down.

Here's my dog enjoying the trails with me:

Off to a good start, I'd say!

Chickerdoodle, I've never been to NJ and really have had no mental picture till now! Beautiful sunset. I like your dog, too! Too bad there's no audio function on BYC--I'd love to hear what the rails and whippoorwills sound like...

My daughter runs in 5Ks......I walk in a few of the walk/run 5Ks. My knees don't let me run much anymore. We visit friends and family in Colorado every year and we do a lot of hiking in the mountains then. My husband likes to do fourteeners....he didn't start tho until his mid fifties so he'll probably never get them all done. He's 63 now.
