Anybody live in Lawton OK and get the Small Animal permit? My wife called today but the office is closed till tomorrow and I'm looking to see if there are any special restrictions on getting a permit. I have a pretty large backyard that is fenced in so I don't see a reason to not be given one but we know how silly these folks can be sometimes.

Thanks.

Hey,
Did you ever find out the details?? I have chickens now with no permit and just now realized I am supposed to get one... Did you find out what it costs and what animals are allowed? I'm thinking about adding a Pygmy goat to mow the lawn...

Late in replying here, but wanted to say hello. I'm not sure about Lawton. I live in between Lawton and Cache (near Goodyear) and have 8 chickens. We are wanting to get 2 pygmy does soon but no clue where to find them other than Craigslist. You have any ideas?

So yeah, I'm really late to this but getting a permit in Lawton is really easy as long as you have a big backyard and the birds best interest in mind.

I am between Lawton and Cache in a neighborhood by The Goodyear plant. I called Cache city hall this morning, and while my physical address is in Cache, their jurisdiction stops at crater creek rd, so they referred me to Lawton. I called Lawton, and they said since my addy is in Cache, I need to refer to their codes and ordinances.

Sooo... I fall somewhere in the middle, I guess. I was checking on this just incase one of my neighbors complains in the future. Guess if one of them does (which I highly doubt will happen anyway) neither Lawton or Cache will do anything about it. Hmmm... Maybe I just fall within the general county guidelines vs a city? I saw a neighbors pot belly pig roaming the neighborhood last summer and noticed the county sheriff come out to help corral it. He ended up hoisting into his SUV and driving it back to its owners lol. So if we have an issue in the future, maybe it'll be the county sheriffs office I hear from? Idk... While I'm kind of in the country out here, it is still a zoned neighborhood. Unsure whose laws apply to me, so I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing. :)
