Hello fellow chicken lovers. After years of stalking various discussions, topics, articles, etc, I have decided to quit being an onlooker, and show my face. Over the past eight years, I have kept a small backyard flock of chickens (an average of about 25). My interests/ownerships have ranged from the "Is that an actual chicken?" seramas to the fat loafing orpingtons, with about 40 other breeds in between. Right now I'm hooked on ameraucanas. I have 11 BBS in one pen, and a roaming blue cockerel who was kicked out due to several genetic defects. I have amassed quite a knowledge bank (I think... hope)on chickens, but I know there is always more to learn. Wish me luck!
