It's really weird to me how so many of my eggs were fertile and developed and just suddenly died. Especially the SS eggs which we're looking great and then all died eventually.

I only have 5 and they will hopefully be my broody girls.

I am so done with broody hens. I had 3 in broody jail. Just a few minutes ago, I took one that I wasn't 100% sure was broody when I put her in and released her after 2 days or so. Then I left the coop and came back 5 minutes later to see her plopped screaming on the nest.

That happened with my last hatch. I assumed it had something to do with the power outage I had for like 2 hours right at lockdown, but idk for sure.

How old are the chickens that laid them? How long have they been laying?

It’s impossible to get a good photo but I got a pip!!!! Ironically it’s egg number 1 haha one of my Easter egger eggs. I coulda swore I heard peeps when I first got home but now I hear nothing.

I had one little pip and a few peeps, now they're silent again.

They're waiting until just before I decide I'm going to bed then they'll all pip . . then they'll wait 24-hour to do anything else, lol

The brooder gets kinda warm every once and a while so they have a really warm space, a warm spot, and a cool side
