Cabbage

Well, we finally got them a cabbage (they are spoiled with other goodies) and at first they were perplexed by it. But when I went to go look at it a little later, this is what I saw:

A little later in the day, it was down to a husk.

I guess we'll be getting more than one next time. Good thing they are not too expensive.

Also notice the clever hanging system. m750 figured that one out. The hook just went straight into the cabbage base!

When I hang one it's gone in 1 day ! 11 hens !

Yep, I have 12 and a roo so that's about on par. I will expect speedy consumption in the future!

Just had me laughing. These chickens are so funny! I was thinking they wouldn't like it by the looks I got when it appeared.

Looks like you stuck something in the cabbage to hang it. I want to hang a cabbage for my gals but I was wondering how to do it.

oh yeah-- I feed them cabbage. It's just about the cheapest thing at the grocery store, especially at St. Pat's day. It's like 10 cents a pound!!!!!
