Calico silkie roo

I have a calico silkie roo. What color should I breed it to? I've read they don't breed true. Chicken genetics is total greek to me. I need someone to just say breed this color to that color to get this. Thanks

Well, what are you wanting? More calicos or just pretty yard candy? Also do you really have a calico (splash with red), or is it a grey with red? The red is pretty easy to pass down; getting rid of it is the problem. Getting it to spread throughout the plumage is also not so easy.

Splash breeds true. Autosomal red is difficult to breed out, not in. So breed to a splash hen.
