The 2 California Grey Bantam roosters I have ever raised have had eye problems. The younger one, who passed away recently, was blind in his left eye. I assumed it was because he had gotten into a fight with another rooster, but the strange thing was that once he was already blind for a long time, he still had yellow pus coming out of his eye.
Now the other rooster seems to be going blind in his left eye as well, even though there are no signs of injury. He also used to have occasional pus coming out of his eyes.
I tried to find out some info about the breed to see if they were prone to eye problems, but I could't find any info on the breed at all.
Does anyone raise California Grey Bantams, and have noticed similar problems?
Here are 2 photos, of the rooster's good eye and the affected one.
