Hi, guys. I have recently gone back to school to work on a Human Service Bachelor's degree, and one of our class assignments is to interview someone from a different culture and write a 4-6 page paper about the culture, the interviewee's background, the interviewee's responses to the interview questions, and how our culture relates to the culture of the interviewee.

I don't actually know many people from other cultures (my area is not huge in the cultural diversity department). I know a former coworker who I'm friends with on facebook that I'm going to ask, but on the chance that she isn't interested, I'm putting out an open call to anyone who may be interested. :)

Consider that culture is a broad term. From punks to gated community members, VA's own Yogaville to Jerry Falwell's Liberty University, cultures can be found in your own backyard that differ from broader American or mainstream culture. Some of the most thought-provoking, socially charged, and fascinating of my Anthropology courses covered small subcultures. If that idea and direction interests you, I'd run it by your professor for approval first. :)

If it helps I am a born and raised kraut. Lived in Germany for 26 years.

Edited: Thought combined posts would be better. Didn't realize there was no delete option. =\

That actually might help. :) I could run it by my instructor if you're interested and don't mind responding to some interview questions. The list of questions is provided by the professor, and I could email them or paste them into a private message.

Thanks. That is an excellent suggestion, but in this case, the professor is looking for something more along the lines of a culture from a different country or something like Native American culture within the US.

Sorry couldn't get the computer earlier, the kids had a snow day yesterday. I wouldn't mind answering a few questions. I was raised in Germany in a rural area, but my father(german) exposed me to American culture when he drove stock car at an nearby Army post.
