Howdy all, I just wanted to share my love of pellet smoking as one off my main ways to cook. We have a Treager smoker and from the first day I ate food at my brother-in-laws house, I knew I was forever changed. I thought this might be a fun way to swap smoking meat methods and recipes. Post pictures, tells us a story and make us hungry with those delishes pictures. Can't wait, oh and of course I have smoked a chicken on it. :D

I will kick it off with something BYC related in good fun, classic bacon and eggs on a cat iron griddle aka Treager Style.

  2. Great smokin!

Love your set up. Keep it up. We frequently smoke meat as well. Best chicken I've ever had is a smoked Meatie we had raised ourselves. But I really love cold smoking cheeses of all kinds. My favorite is Gouda and Chedder.

Keep it up. Here is a wood smoker I built a few months back and has become a favorite.

Wow, your serious about your smoking huh!? I have never done cold smoking, my brother-in-law has a cold smoker attachment or some thing to that effect for his Treager. Have had his salmon and it was yummy. I have never done cheese, I love Gouda! Perhaps my fav on the smoker is just rubbed chicken thighs....man I am getting hungry. We made a Venison backstrap the other night, first time I have had it. OMG! was it tasty, I took some smoker porn pics, lol. I have made biscuits, pies, cookies, you name it. I will through anything good on it and it comes out gloriously. Yummy.

What is your favorite meal or meat to smoke and why?

  4. Salmon / trout is my favorite. Mac & Cheese is great smoked. Anything pork is good with smoke but fish is my favorite. I even did walleye last month it was good. Not great but good as it doesn't have enough oil in the flesh to stay moist.

Yum, that looks delish! I love fish on a smoker, tastes so good. Best I have been has been fresh caught rainbow trout. We did a venison backstrap the other night. Slathered in bacon grease since Venison is so lean....
