Calling out to all OEGB breeders

    i have a pair of Blue silver duckwing OEGB and i was wondering if the blue gene breeds true. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

    I don't think the "blue" gene ever breeds true, unless you are speaking of self blue, which is a different genotype completely.

    So, I think you will get regular silver, blue silver and splash silver.

    So should i breed a Blue silver duckwing roo to a silver duckwing hen?

    Blue silver to regular silver would be 50% blue silver, 50% silver.

    silver to silver = 100% silver
    silver to blue silver = 50% silver & 50% blue silver
    silver to splash silver = 100% blue silver
    blue silver to blue silver = 25% silver, 50% blue silver & 25% splash silver
    blue silver to splash silver = 50% blue silver & 50% splash silver
    splash silver to splash silver = 100% splash silver
