Can’t tell if this is a hen or a roo

I have six chicks all the same age, I know the sexes of most of them, except this one! What do you all think?

3/4 Barred rock 1/4 Aracuana

I had thought it was a hen but the comb is redder and the wattles larger than its siblings who I know are hens.

A full sibling (male) and a half sibling (female) for comparison.



I’m really hoping it’s a hen cause it’s so pretty. Also please excuse the cage mess they always throw an absolute riot right before I clean and trash the whole place. I’m excited for them to move outside finally.

They’re five weeks old. It’s really throwing me lol, especially cause the ones I know are male are very obviously male

I've never had a barred bird but I've read that there's something special about the barring between a male and female.maybe if you look it up then you would get a better idea. Good luck.

based on spacing of barring and comb development I would lean towards cockerel. Post pictures in 2-3 weeks for a more accurate answer

Cockerel. The comb isn't colorful yet but it is large.

That's a male. Its comb is way to big for a pullet at that age.
