Handle a standard rooster's mount and be able to produce a fertile egg?

Oh I think the eggs would be fertile but I wouldn't allow them to mate with a bantam hen. There have been bantam hens killed by standard roos [IMG] In fact my large hens prefer the bantam roo for mating rather then the standard roos. Thos big roos can be mean and rough.

Take this theory with a grain of salt - as I am no expert in hatching... But... I would think you may not have a very good success rate when it comes to hatching because the bigger chicks might be squashed in the tiny eggs. Whereas, a bantam roo to a standard hen would not cause the same issue. Again, just my own thoughts - not from any particular experience.

Thanks to all your thoughts. I will strongly trading the bantam for a standard.
