Can a chick produce enough heat at day 16 to effect incubator temps?

I've got nine eggs in an incubator that can hold up to two dozen. The temps were 98-100 but since day 14 I've had spikes up to 102! Nothing has changed, no one touched the temp controls, no drafts, and a constant room temp of 72. Its a still air incubator and one side always runs 1-2 degrees cooler. The temp does not seem to effect the chicks as they are still active, but it seems borderline too high to me. This is my first time hatching without a broody and don't want to screw things up this late in the game. Suggestions? Any advice is appreciated! I suspect I may have some early peeps.
