Can a molting Hen go broody ???

I had a Polish hen , who went into a moult 2 weeks ago ... she would occasionally roost up in a tree at night instead of going in the coop ... .... a few days ago she went missing . She could have found a nest of eggs on the property that I havent found yet ... can moulting hens go broody like this ??? If not, I think a preditor got her .....but I have not found evidence of this .... no blood, no caos ...
