The heritage breeds will all naturally reproduce and we recomend them. They come in all different sizes and colors. Some are better table birds and others make great "yard candy".
We have raised different breeds, so once you narrow your search down for what you want let us know maybe we can give you a rundown of how they are.

Just for the record, I have a spanish black hen that is the first one to lay in the spring(late Feb.-Mar.) and lays an egg a day till early Oct. better than most of my chickens. Tasty too................

I have ate turkey, quail, partridge, pheasant, peafowl, eggs they are about the same as chicken eggs. Waterfowl eggs are stronger taste, I dislike the waterfowl. Ate most as hardboil eggs.

Only eat the turkey and peafowl eggs, laid after breeding season, as the eggs worth more as hatching eggs.

Jim the BB Toms just get to large to breed(50 lbs), You can use another tom on the BB hens.

Ha! I saw that Dirty Jobs, too. Lost my taste for turkey for a while. LOL!!

Can't go wrong with heritage turkeys. And, from what I read, all of them outrank commercial turkeys in any taste test. (We got narragansetts last April.)

I am going nuts wanting ducks because their eggs are huge, and find them GREAT for my baking of biscotti and cream cheese cookies.

I'm planning on trying to get a dozen for thanksgiving to do deviled eggs. I want everything oversized on the table this year.

In fact, I need to find me a fattened turkey here soon...
