can a silkie rooster mate with a ri white, and vice versa. Even though a silkie is a bantam, and my ri white is large.
just wondering because i have a ri white that is a confermed hen, and a silkie that the gennder i am not quite sure of. Thanks for your help.

some bantams can "get it done" with a standard...just depends on the determination of the roo and the willingness of the hen....kinda like a chihuahua breeding a rottweiler (it's been done)... [IMG]

Yep... my silkie roo mates with "his girls" every day, they are all sex links of standard size - it's a balancing act, wham bam thank you ma'am (3 seconds!) - LOL!

I love that my roos are so small and light, none of my hens have damaged feathers due to the mating [IMG]
