I got this hen from a friend that got her from the feed mill so I don't know age or breed. She lays a light brown egg. I think she is probably a mixed breed. Yes those are feathers on her feet
Can anybody help on age and breed?

I don't know what she is, but she sure is neat looking. Almost looks like some variety of Brahma.

I'm thinking Brahma or Brahma mix as well.

There are a kajillion colors for Brahmas.

She looks like she might have been part of somebody's Buff Laced project that didn't lace well.

Wow! With that color, and the overall build, and the feathered legs, funky comb and white skin.......

I'm gonna throw out a light Brahma/buff Orpington mix, just for giggles.

Body shape of a Brahma, the pea comb is kind of a modified that could be from mixing with a straight comb. She has kind of that Brahma face/look to her. Feathered legs from a Brahma.

Loose, fluffy feathers from an Orpington. White skin from an Orpington. Buff color from an Orpington.

Honestly, you're not going to know for sure, but that's as good as anything. She's a nice looking hen, for sure. I love having unique looking birds in my flock [IMG]

Yeah I can see Brahma-Orp...a Buff Orpington with a Light Brahma cross could look like that.

So that would be a Orahma? Or a Brorpington?

    Just kidding.
