I was told that the brown chicks were Americanas, but looking at the pictures I now question that. I can't figure out how to upload a picture. They are about 2 weeks old and look more like quail than anything.

There are several breeds that can be brown chipmunky colored as babies. Some things that'll help narrow it down are... Do they have feathered feet? Extra toes? Beard/muffs? Crest? What color legs do they have? What kind of comb do they have? Pea, rose, and single combs are the most common. Pea and rose combs might not look like much more than a small rather triangular shaped flesh spot just above the beak. A single comb looks like a straight serrated line.

Make a few more posts and then you should be able to post pictures. In the meantime, post the answers to the above questions and we might be able to help you narrow it down.
