Beatrice's chicks. Beatrice is a French Black Copper Marans. Maple, the mother, has five toes on each foot and black skin.

I'm not an expert. From what I've read, Silkie's are the only chicken you'll find in the west with black skin. How many toes?

Curious to hear what others say.

Maple is a silkie mix. Fern- Does she have feathered legs? Almost looks cochin or Cochin mix.

I'm not sure about Fern, but Birch and Maple look like Silkie mixes.

Birch and Fern are the chicks of Maple and Beatrice, a copper marans. They all have feathered feet.

I think Birch looks like a Sultan.

If Birch and Fern are Maple and Beatrice's offsprings they are mixes.

Yes... do you know what might have been crossed with Silkie for Maple?
