    Thank you :) The Feed store that we got her from told us she was a Rhode Island Red. But as she feathered out she was obviously not... lol

    You might be happy that you got a Speckled Sussex instead of a RIR. Not as many eggs, but a much sweeter bird.

    I agree - the RIRs I've had were nowhere near as friendly as the Sussex!

    She is very friendly so far. She doesn't come to us to be held but she doesn't complain at all when we pick her up. Which is good since technically she is my 9 year old daughter's bird.. lol
    Out of our 5 hens our Red Sex Link is the meanest. She pecks everything hard. The kids call her our Biter... lol

    My speckled sussex are my most noisy, friendly chickens and good at foraging.
