Hatched some eggs from my birds this year and had these guys pop up. My male is a Cinnamon Golden and the females are Reds (only ones I could find - wasn't really looking into breeding them). I had some of the chipmunk colored ones and some light golden colored. I just assumed that, that was the difference in the color variety from red to cinnamon. Now as the little ones are getting older I have a couple that are getting whiter. Are these Pied?

Bird in question on the far left (male), Sister showing signs of white (bottom middle) and another sister far right (top) to show just how light the other two are. Sorry not a great pic.

Erin The Red Golden Males "metamorphisize" Their Colors Until Almost 2 Yrs Old. I Have Never Had Any Cinnamons, But The Red Males Do Change Colors Quite A Bit Before They End Up Looking Like Dad. I Am No Expert On Cinnamons But I Think Your Boy Is Doing Just That, I Can See In The Pic Where He's Molting... This May Be A Stepping Stone To Get To The Final Coloration Of Dad??? Try Sending A Pm To Tonykt, Or Spectrum Ranch, I Bet Either Of Them Can Clear It Up For You. If Not Maybe Lophura? Most Of Those Guys Have Wide Experiences With Ornimental Speces. All I Have Are The Standard Red Goldens But The Boys Do Change Alot Between Now And Maturity.

They Are Pretty Tho!

Wow! I know nothing about this type of bird, but just wanted to say that your picture of the "dad" just became my computer background for a while. It's beautiful!
