Can anyone tell the gender of this bird?

I am unsure if this is a hen or rooster. Just got her/him and the shelter said it’s a hen but I’m not sure if that’s the case. Thank you!

They said about 6 months

those also look like hackle feathers, i'm also leaning in the cockeral direction. I'd try and return him/her or wait a while till it either crows, and even then wait a bit to see if the hormones balance out and it starts laying. I've had more than one hen start out crowing only to start laying eggs. I presume sometimes the male hormones come on first then the female hormones dominate to show the true sex.
