Been a long time lurker to the website. Gotten tons of help from you all over the years. Please help us now!

Came home to the following pictures. Can anything be done or is it just a waiting game? We have been giving her Epsom salt baths and cleaning her. But the prolapse burst. Is this the end? IMG_20181212_165908.jpg IMG_20181212_165856.jpg IMG_20181212_170002.jpg

I am really sorry about your chicken. I would either take her to a vet to put her down or do it yourself before she suffers anymore. She cannot live with her organs outside her. So sorry.

Yes. This is the end. Once the innards get pulled all the way outside the body and begin to dry out, bacteria begins to grow very quickly on the exposed tissue. Trying to put everything back won't work. She will only remain in a great deal of pain which will increase as infection runs rampant. This is the best method to euthanize a chicken humanely. https://the-chicken-chick.com/how-to-humanely-euthanize-chicken-by-dr/

She fought a good fight. She has endured. If she were mine I’d show her loving kindness and help her find peace. It’s never easy. I’m sorry. :hugs

I have to agree with the others. She should be euthanized.

To everyone.. This is Rob, husband to Carrie who originally posted.
You are all correct; quickly texted pics to a vet friend and confirmed it was not good. We said our good byes and put our sweet Freeda down humanely. She did not fight and was clearly already septic. We will miss her sweetness and waddle
Thank you all very much for your kind words and support.
