I'm an organic grower, and because of that, about 40% of my peach crop have worms in them. Some only have a single worm, and I can cut that out, but other fruit have bunches of them in them.

My question: Can I give my chickens the whole fruit, and have them peck away at it like they do cabbage?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't want to do the wrong thing with my birds.

Has not killed mine. I give them the bruised peaches since the other people in the house don't know how to pick a peach.

I very much doubt the chicken will be able to swallow the whole peach. [IMG]

Just kidding. They will be fine with the whole fruit. It will give them something to do, like chicken soccer.

We had a bumper crop of peaches this year and halved dozens and froze them. Now that the weather is in the 100's each day one of the ways I cool my girls down is dump a bunch of frozen peaches in their run. You should see them go crazy eating them. Cools them down, gives them some entertainment along with their cabbage pinata and I think makes them lay more.

Will they peck at the seed? I thought the seed was poisonous.
